Sally Field’s openly gay son, Sam Greisman, has spoken out strongly against Kim Davis, the former Kentucky clerk who famously refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide in 2015.
Davis, who served jail time for her refusal, is once again in the spotlight as she petitions the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit and potentially overturn the landmark marriage equality ruling. Her legal team has argued that the 2015 decision violated her religious freedom.
Greisman did not hold back in his reaction. Taking to social media, he called Davis a “hideous bitch” for continuing her crusade against marriage equality, a stance that directly threatens the rights of LGBTQ+ couples across the country.
His comment reflects mounting frustration among advocates who view Davis’s ongoing legal battle as a dangerous attempt to roll back civil rights already secured under federal law. LGBTQ+ activists stress that marriage equality is settled law and that efforts to undermine it are out of step with the majority of Americans who support same-sex marriage.
